Sooraj Santhosh is a singer-songwriter composer who has been working predominantly in the South Indian film industry. Sooraj was the lead vocalist of the folk-rock band Masala Coffee. He has performed in numerous national and international concerts as well as composed and produced music for them in various indie and film projects.

 

He performed with the Chamber Choir of Europe as a Soloist Tenor, as a part of the unique musical project Mantra Meets Classic. It was the first ever choral composition in Tamil and Sanskrit, composed by the Indian composer Mr Ganesh B Kumar and conducted by Mr Nicol Matt who is one of Germany’s new generation conductors.  Sooraj has also accompanied the Indo-Austrian band Ashram Oriental Rock on their European tour in 2011.

Currently Sooraj performs with his own band Sooraj Santhosh Live. He is working on his debut solo album which will be released this year.

 

Among his many recognitions are the Kerala State Film Award for Best Male Playback singer, Mirchi Music Award South for Best Male Vocalist in Telugu and Malayalam, SIMA Award for Best Male Vocalist in Malayalam and Indiwood Excellence Award for Best Indian Playback Singer.
